Clear Channel Communications

The internship program focuses on the promotional aspect of radio, executing promotional events for clients.  Office hours are available for interns to see the inside of radio with many duties including, but not limited to notifying contest winners, preparation for upcoming events, update of event listings on websites, and recapping events by uploading pictures on the station websites.  There are other opportunities available to shadow other departments within our company such as sales, programming, web, and production.

Connecticut Defenders Baseball Team

Assist in developing the 2009 media guide. Must be detail oriented and have experience using Microsoft Publisher. Work will involve writing as well as researching statistics. Should be interested in sports. Once guide is completed student may stay on for additional hours to learn about media relations, broadcasting and get some game day experience.

Writing/Videographer Internships

Write news stories, profiles and articles!

Do you enjoy writing and want to strengthen your professional writing skills?  We are always in need of interns who are willing to take on writing assignments that could include the following:

  • Write news stories for The District website at – our goal is to have a steady flow of new and interesting pieces.
  • Write articles for New London Main Street newsletter, published three times each year (March, July and November)
  • Conduct interviews and write volunteer or business profiles for monthly e-Newsletter, Volunteer Vibes.
  • Write press releases – GREAT experience!
  • Assist with social media communications and campaigns

You can suggest ideas for story approval, or you can accept assignments. 

Videographer Internship

Intern will attend and record events (pre-event activity as well as during events)/meetings/interviews as required.  You will need your own video equipment and have the ability to edit and select footage for use in our communications.  We are looking for someone who is majoring in this area of communications and wants to gain some real-world hands-on experience to enhance your resume.  Ideally you will be creative, stay up-to-date with latest technological advances, and be able to work independently with good turnaround time.  Great way to network and gain some visibility in the community.

This is a great way to build your skills while enhancing your resume.  Each project is unique, challenging and visible in the community.
